Travel & Accomodations

Mt RainierMany of our patients come from all over the U.S. and from overseas, and for some it is their first opportunity to visit the beautiful Puget Sound area.

Puget Sound, an estuary carved out by ancient glaciers, lies between two mountain ranges, the Olympic Mountains and the Cascade Range, with is volcanic in origin. It is a place of extraordinary natural beauty, possessed of a mild year-round climate where summers are warm and dry, and winters mild and rainy.

When out-of-town patients are scheduled for surgery, they generally arrive one or two days prior for their consultation and preoperative evaluation. We require that patients stay at least 24 hours after surgery for both safety and comfort — although another day is very helpful if you are traveling a long distance.

If this is your first visit to the Puget Sound area, why not consider coming a few days earlier to see some of the beauty of our area, and enjoy the many sights, activities, and excellent restaurants available only a short distance from our location? A vacation will have you rested and relaxed, ready for your procedure. Of course, you will want to do your sightseeing before your surgery, so that your recovery afterwards will be smooth and uneventful.

If you are traveling to Tacoma for your reversal surgery, check out our information on local hotels, restaurants, and local and regional points of interest. We have negotiated special rates with many of the local hotels, which are mentioned in the hotel information.
